Boom, Belgium – Tomorrowland Belgium Weekend 1 (17–19 July 2026) will take place without traditional fireworks after local authorities prohibited their use because of the ongoing drought and the increased risk of nature fires around De Schorre.
The decision was made as a precaution to protect the surrounding nature. Although fireworks have always been one of Tomorrowland's most iconic traditions, safety has been given the highest priority this year.
A Tomorrowland spokesperson expressed disappointment about the way the organization learned of the decision:
"We regret that we had to learn about this decision through the media instead of being informed directly. However, the safety of our visitors, crew and the surrounding environment will always come first."
Despite the absence of traditional fireworks, Tomorrowland confirmed that the festival experience will remain largely unchanged. Visitors can still expect spectacular stage productions, immersive lighting, lasers, special effects and unforgettable performances throughout the weekend.
At this time, the restriction only applies to Weekend 1. It remains unclear whether the same measures will also affect Weekend 2, as the situation will depend on weather conditions and decisions by the local authorities.
PLUR Network will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.
